URBAN ART INSTALLATION
From August 28th to October 30th
Dome Next Door is an interactive, habitable urban art installation located in the heart of Riga’s historic center. The installation will be situated in Dome Square and will be accessible to the city’s residents and visitors from July 28th to October 30th. Its aim is to create a friendly event of social interaction, coexistence, and aesthetic appeal in the largest square of the old town.
At the intersection of seven Riga streets, the art installation invites people from various social groups to enjoy and interact in the newly revitalized public space. In this way, the users of the installation become an integral part of the project, collectively filling the open space of the square.
Dome Next Door is an interactive journey deeply inspired by the city’s architecture: medieval vaults, the Dome Cloister, the geometry of arched windows, and the surrounding building facades that mark significant periods in Riga’s development. The installation provides not only a playground and relaxation area but also a space that reflects and respects the city’s historical and cultural heritage.
